Beta 0.63 has been released!

Beta 0.63 comes with a lot of new small things. Most importantly, there’s a fix for the seemingly random client side crash that’s been bugging everyone lately. There’s some new visual stuff like rank icons, a victory image and rank progression (XP if you will) indicators. The soldiers are now also able to move and turn while on prone, weapon reload times have been adjusted and there are new car props in map2! See the change log for detailed list of changes.

The work on the drivable jeep is progressing nicely, I’ll make a teaser video about it soonish once I reach a certain level with it. Plenty of work to be done there though, but I’m hoping we can start testing it online in a couple of weeks!

That was fast; beta 0.62 is out!

A big unfortunate last minute bug had found its way into beta 0.61 making the life of multiplayers miserable – beta 0.62 makes it right again and is available for download right now. For completeness sake, enjoy the change log.

Beta 0.61 is out!

Hey there!

This time, the new version introduces a sniper rifle with extended sight range, third map (although very much work-in-progress), and a revamped base capture logic with a new HUD indicator. Other than that, there are some minor bug fixes and slight optimizations, sorted out in detail here.

Major multiplayer updates in beta 0.60!

Beta 0.60 is available starting now! RWR now features client side prediction and it works wonders for online gaming I must say. As long as the lag stays below 200ms the online game sessions seem very playable, highly much more than before beta 0.60.

The in-game server browser makes its debut appearance as well, it should make it more straightforward to find people to play with online. Other very welcome updates include squad member markers, better squad forming, corpse bug fixes, controllable corpse clean up threshold, re-balanced shotgun, new high ranks, some new textures, the usual bug fixes.. and last but not least, new signs and parasols (indeed!) generously provided by JackMayol!

For the modders out there, there’s some new stuff in the weapon system which allows e.g. bolt-action weapons with magazines, and there’s now basic support for external 3D meshes to be imported in the game. Also, don’t forget the RWR voxel editor which was released a small while ago!
