Beta 0.59 is out!

After a long wait RUNNING WITH RIFLES beta 0.59 sees the light of day bringing along new features such as adding a server to a public list at http://serverlist.modulaatio.com, squad commands and the shotgun. Check out the full change log on the forum.

The development is now getting back to full throttle again after a few obstacles experienced in the last few weeks (moving in new home and all the mess with it, main dev PC PSU blowing up). Next up in beta 0.60, expect to see the in-game server browser and the client side prediction!

Also, starting the work with vehicles and the third map should not be that far away now..

Beta 0.582 is out, yet another critical fix release

A problem with map loading was found in beta 0.58 which occurred on certain PCs, causing map2 loading to abort. 0.582 fixes it by setting the floating point precision to something specific when initializing the game, rather than relying on the default setting which might be different on different PCs causing slightly different calculation results causing huge differences while loading a map and eventually crashes.

Another important fix is for the online gaming, where a crash would happen on the client(s) when an area became occupied by a new faction IF the clients didn’t have the exact same sequence of maps loaded during a single run of RWR as the server. Simple stuff but seemingly awkward to explain, anyway, the area ids just became off-sync due to lack of id reset when changing the map. Fixed!

Beta 0.58 released, now with 100% more water

Yay, finally some water for those beaches and docks in the second map!

Beta 0.58 also brings clipboard paste functionality, better falling motion, global (just online session wide really) chat, and a bunch of minor fixes. See the change log for details.

Beta 0.572 released, including a critical fix for map2, for some

As it says in the topic, map2 refused to load up on some people’s computers, resulting in a crash every time. Map1 seemingly loaded up ok without crashing, but a lot of objects were misplaced in the map. Beta 0.572 fixes that; big thanks to those who helped to locate the issue!

Other tiny changes in the release include a greater radius for spawn zone safety, and the collectible weapons and grenades exist for a little longer now.
