Beta 0.57 is out, with more minor fixes

Beta 0.57 is out, bringing some essential usability and bug fixes. Also this time as a minor experiment, the weapon is no longer randomly chosen when respawning, instead, the weapon stays the same as before getting killed. This should enable slightly more focused class-like approach to the gaming. Let’s see how it fits.

RWR @ IndieDB

The RWR site at IndieDB has launched, I’ve added some fresh screenshots and a 2 player coop video there, see the video below as well. I will be adding more info and details at the IndieDB site in the near future.

In the video I’m accompanied by MissDjax, whom I met at the official RUNNING WITH RIFLES IRC-channel #RWR on QuakeNet the other day – it’s a great way to find people to play RWR with, there’s been several 2-4 player game sessions going on this week. Most of us there are from Europe and the lag seems to be mostly tolerable in the games between multiple regions even – the upcoming client side prediction feature will still help a lot with that!

Beta 0.56, minor fixes

Beta 0.56 is available! This release is mainly a minor bug fix release, improving load times, tweaking behavior regarding roofs, adding some new props on map 2, and a few others. See the change log on the forum for details.

Beta 0.55 with accessible roofs

Not quite on time before the XMAS weekend like I promised at least here in Finland, but close enough — beta 0.55 is available to pre-purchasers starting now!

Most importantly, roof tops are now accessible which brings a whole new dimension to combat. Some new props, dynamic crosshair, aiming fixes, several changes for AI and overall pacing, some minor enhancements on the maps, optimized map view, etc, see the change log for details.
