So I recently got this error:
--------------------------------------------
An Exception has occurred!

OGRE EXCEPTION(7:InternalErrorException):Can't find requested video mode. in D3D9RenderSystem::Initialise at ..\..\..\..\..\RenderSystems\Direct3D9\src\OgreD3D0RenderSystem.cpp(line 594)
---------------------------------------------------------
(Copied exactly how the popup shows)

I haven't been able to play instead of opening up RWR, it gives me this white popup box with this error message..

Any help would be appreciated! :)

hmm, what operating system? if windows check under here, otherwise i cant really help, thought linux might have not that same instructions but not far)

you are missing directX or rwr isnt recognizing it, reinstall directX or you could also try openGL.

for openGL have a rwr shortcut like this "C:\Program Files (x86)\Running with rifles\rwr_game.exe" opengl.

i cant say nothing else without the log file.
(the log file is C:\Users\(name)\AppData\Roaming\Running with rifles\rwr_game , just so you know in the future if you meet any other problems)

Have you changed your monitor recently? You might want to try another video mode in the config, it's "Configure Running with Rifles" under Windows Start menu if you're using the standalone version.

In Desura you probably right click on RWR entry and choose something similar to "Configure" to access the config.

Hi
I've spend hours trying to resolve this issue having read this conversation i thought i had found the answer however no luck.

I'm trying to run the game on virtual box running windows XP, direct X is up to date and I've tried reinstalling the game, to no luck and have tried all the different video modes

any other ideas or help would be appreciated.

thanks

The configuration tool only lists video modes that are reported acceptable by the underlying system, so unless something changes in between using the config tool and running the game, the game shouldn't fail to launch because of a video mode issue; but of course, anything can happen with a special setup such as VirtualBox. Have you tried running it in windowed mode?
