Here are some really bloody pictures of the new version 0.91. Too bad that there's no call for a cleaner right now. :(

WARNING: Pictures may show traces of mass destruction, violence and lots of blood. You're warned!

I once went on the chat as a guest and asked for .91, but apparently I was late and the giveaway was over.

;-;

really cool looking screenshots ontopic, do the brown bits simply occur when an explosion happens or just when vehicles are destroyed? do the red bits also occur when someone gets non-lethally shot?

the brown bits happen when there has been an explosion of any kind at this location.
The blood splat also happen when the enemy got non-lethal shots too ya.

Hmm blood, not yet, it's a character related effect and I haven't yet externalized the character configs, should get around to that soon.

Other effects, blasts and tire marks, are controllable.

Would this include the ability to use different animation files for different characters/models by any chance?

Possibly, in some way. I'd suppose the faction files that declare the model pool could also declare the animation file and the character config per model entry.

The character config mostly will expose all the tweaking parameters for various character states, odd stuff like OPPOSITESTEER_AMOUNT_CLIMBING_LADDER_STOPPING and STEER_AMOUNT_PRONE_MOVING as well as the character specific particle effects. Vanilla likely won't make much of use of the system, but I have high hopes it'll work without too much pain.

Yea, having the model and animation declarations in the same place sounds reasonable, and this sounds like the perfect way of doing it. :)
