So I've tried downloading a sound from the internet. Oddly enough, before editing the file in a program, the sound plays in-game. But after editing it with a program (saving it as a .wav), the sound doesn't play anymore. It plays perfectly normal when using a music player, though. Anyone else having this problem?

Oh, I've been saving them as stereo all along. Thanks.

Note that ambient sounds are/need to be stereo.

The problem is still there, even if I saved it as the following:

hmm weird. What software is this?
For some reason I was never able to make the output audio files work with Adobe audition CS 5.5 but with Adobe Audition 3.0 it is. Maybe you'd need to try another software yourself.

Audacity is a free and fairly easy to use program, perhaps try that? I think a long time ago that's what I used to modify some of the ambient sounds.

I was having the same problem, even with Audacity!

But I got it working with legacy version 1.2.6
