Hi, I thought it would be cool that when tanks are added, that the tracks could get broken or something. Because, unlike in some games, tank treads are not invincible sheets of metal that never break. What I was thinking is that if a tank gets hit on one of it's sides it would have a percentage of the treads breaking. And when they do break, the tank comes to a stop and moves slightly to the side that the treads broke(e.g. if the right tread broke, tank slowly turns right for around a second). And also maybe the main gun has a very low chance of jamming, and it takes a few seconds to get it working again?

Just some stuff I thought wood be cool to add. :D

actually IRL, tanks are exactly as portrayed in games. They are 100% functional until the health bar (which hangs above the tank at all times) goes to 0 in which the tank explodes violently and suddenly. The aforementioned health bar can be reduced by even pitiful small arms fire such as from M9 beretta's and other 9mm weapons. Tanks have infinite ammo, impeccable aiming, and cannot break down unless the health bar is empty. Based on this true information that the government has been hiding from you for a long time, making a tank that could have its treads busted would be so far from realistic that it could not make sense in such a realistic game as RWR. Thus, tanks that are NOT invincible sheets of metal will not be seen as realistic.

This is knowledge from a veteran [me] of the Civil War, WWI, WWII, the Cold War, the Korean War, the Viet-nam War, and various operations in the middle east. Trying to refute the above is pointless and futile. I am decorated with 50 Purple Hearts, the Distinguished Service Medal, multiple Double Kill medals, 3 Triple Kill Medals, and 2 Over Kill Medals as well as 3 Congressional Medals of Honor. Trust me...

you may laugh at me now but I tell you, tis true. And no, I mean the real wars vesuvia.. video games are for chumps although the perfect realism in games like Call of Duty is quite stunning. I suggest RWR allow the player to hide behind a wall to regenerate health as well because it is so realistic.

Maybe I'll make a mod for realism called "Super Duper Ultimate Tactical Realism Mod"...

haha I'm sorry guys, I was feeling particularly sassy that day.

In an attempt to bring the discussion back to what the OP said, IF tanks were to be implemented (we shall see after the balancing and role playing of the APC), your ideas would not be bad at all. I think if you lose a tread, you should only be able to drive in circles around that tread but still technically be able to "drive". Only when both treads are dead will you come to a complete stop and it's time to really bail out. Not sure about jamming though. It doesn't seem to add too much to the game just by making tank guns jam.
