Got it! The surrendering state would be removed, and the leftover enemies would stay functional but they'd drop their weapons and instead charge with knives!

You'd have to kill them as self defense

Could you leave the surrendering as an option/ Possibly another set of options for troops after defeat
Surrender
Fight to Death
Mixture of the two(Depends on number of friendlies and enemies around, if surrounded by more enemies, they'll surrender, but if there are more "losers" than victors, they'll attempt to kill their enemies and fight to the death.)

take on note that surrendered side if they are inside vehicle, they are basically not surrenderd and still is able to attack, or least on boat
