Controlling the crosshair with a pad would probably be quite painful

I have tried this (via xpadder) and this is absolutely true.
Pad for movement (and buttons in ergonomic places) + mouse works wonders though.

I actually got it set up with xpadder too and it works pretty darn well. I have it so it walks when I partially move the joystick, and runs when its fully moved.

Is this gamepad request being considered still? You can add my vote to have gamepad support.
This game would be great to fully play with a gamepad, I currently use xpadder with a 360 controller for the left hand for movement and mouse in right.
For Steambox and console portability in the future you could make a killing with this game if it had pad support.
The aiming would have to be adjusted to be more like a twin stick shooter since the cursor jumps all over the place when I try to use the mouse on the right stick and it can't be used for aiming with that setup.

MattFromElkford, can you describe how you made the walk/run on left stick work in xpadder. Thanks

mmmm well least i wouldnt use gamepad to play rwr but i could try rwr with steam controller as it is very much different controller than other controller which has dual sticks. But for the whole gamepad idea im staying on neutral

I agree, the steam controller would be a good fit from the looks of it.
