It quite surprises me that the L85 isn't already in the game, but the Famas F1 is, which, as most would say was quite a fail of a rifle. A lot of French forces don't even use there own gun, the Famas for unreliability issues, and firepower.

The L85 was a hugely successful rifle but it is not in the game, I bet there is a mod on here that already has a good textured l85.. now we just need it in the game!!

Almost he entire french army uses the FAMAS (not the special forces but that's normal), the reliability of the FAMAS (it's the G1 ingame btw, not the F1 but that doesnt matter much) is ok-ish, it has issues with NATO cartridges which is indeed a big deal but for the L85a1 had also a lot of issues, probably a LOT more actually. The L85a2 has been revised through Heckler&Koch and became a reliable weapon. So if there would be one weapon to compete with the FAMAS, then the L85a2, not the L85a1.
Anyway, in RWR you don't have reliability issues and there is no need for NATO standards
On top of that we try to have a weapon range to cover more countries than just the usual USA/Russia/Germany as long as they have weapons that are good enough and the FAMAS definitely is.

For now we have:

Russia: PKM, AK47, Dragunov SVD, AKS74u, VSS-Vintorez (+ soon RPG-7)
Germany: G36, MP5SD, (pepperdust)
France: FAMAS-G1
Belgium: F2000, P90
Italy: Benelli-M4, SPAS-12
South Africa: Neostead 2000
China: QWC-05

hmm that makes me think that we actually don't have any weapon from the UK. We'll see if we can change that even though our weapon pool will be close to final in the next version.

Ah, some hints as to what's coming down the tube.

And yea, the L85 would be a welcome addition. More weapons!
