Its not that they don't run in offline mode. The problem is that you can't start offline mode unless you are connected to the internet. Meaning you can't start Steam with no internet connection.
It's a bit backwards, and again, they *might* have fixed it, but I doubt it.

I hope so, something like this was just what I had in mind.

Note that the list is made out of mostly older games that probably wouldn't have support for running trough steam the normal way.

?? Steam asks if you want to connect in offline mode when you AREN'T connected to the internet. I'm confused now.. haha

Yes. I tried again to check if they fixed it now, and the error message seems to have changed, though the problem remains. It now states I haven't saved my account credentials locally (I have) and therefore cannot use offline mode.
Simply put; offline mode doesn't work and effectively locks you out of any game using the DRM part of steam if you find yourself without an internet connection.
