Good Afthernoon everybody (it is afthernoon where I am right now). I am going to suggest three ideas which I had in my mind for like a 2 - 3 weeks, and decided that they are worth my effort to write them down. But before I would like to thank Developers for putting my favourite weapon in game - and that is M16A4. It was a great surprise, as I was sure that You will decide for some older weaponry. Ok, back to topic. As alweys, my suggestions are long term, which means that even if everybody would like them to be implemented, it will take long time to do so. Not on the next patch, not two or even five next patches. Also I do realise that in one of my ideas I am making rather risky assumption.
Short for quick explenation.
1. Instalations, underground bunkers and indoor fighting. Easy to guess - it would be great to be able to go into some of buildings and fight there. But not to all, only to those most important as "Mansion" or "Warehous" and so.
2. "Bosses" and VIPs on battlefield. I called them that just because I do not have better name for them, so do not make mistake - "Bosses" would die just like everybody else. What would be special about them is that they would give some special effect while they live of in moment of they death. By my standart, right now we already have one "Boss" in game - it is Comm Truck.
3. Medic - Enginier cooperation and Your squad preference customization. Those are like two ideas, but they rely on one assumption - that we will get classes of soldiers at some point. First part is about how having both - medic and enginier class troops in Your squad would give better effect (2+2=5, not 4 like math would show). Second part as it is said - I would like to suggest a way to influence what troops are joining into our sguad, and which are not.
Now I will explain exacly what I have in mind, so if any of those interested You, please read more.
1. Right now we have many terrenians in game. We have urban battlefield, we have winter forest, we have trenches, even large map of diffrent terrenians (stalemate). But what we do not have is any form of indor fighting. Of course being able to go intoo any building would be far too much. But as You propably all see, we have more generic buildings, like blocks in a city, and we have more unique buildings, such as a "Mansion" or "Hospitals" or "Academy" or "Airport". Those are unique eoungh to give us possibility to go in and fortify them withouth making such places too common. And I am not talking about multi-flour fighting. I am suggesting only parter (zero flour, ground flour - howewer are You calling that) and maybe a ladder which would allow to go from indoor to the roof. Also, some aeras might have underground tunnels or bunkers which would connect some points on maps. Those would be great - and fight to control them. It would be important for strategical reason to have them under Your control especially if they would allow You to transport troops unseen behind enemy lines. And even if all those would be impossible or counter productive to implement, maybe it would be possible to have at least some maps to be added, which would be in fact all one big instalation of some short - for example sewer system under city, or hidden bunker. Insted of fighting for strategical locations we would fight for more important rooms, corridors joint places and so. Also expirience flowing from fighting in such closed area would be soo much diffrent to expirience that flow from fighting like currently in open area (even most urban maps do not give such claustrofobic fighting expirience).
2. "Bosses"... VIPs... Does not matter how You will call them. Important is what purpose they would have. Right now we have one type of "Boss". Like I said it is Communication Truck. It do not anything special, but if You loose it than Your army has a rather big trouble. What I would like suggest is to have more variety of those. But not only that. I would like them to be spawned on map rather rarely, insted to be granted like Communication Truck. So when You are starting to play You do not know what kind of "Bosses" will be spawned, and when it will happen - it would be random. Also some of them could give Your army some kind of boost. What kind of boost I am talking about? Do not know - maybe bots are aiming better, or maybe additional respawn points next to "Boss", or maybe +1 to grenades for every soldier that is spawned (player or bot). Possibilities are great, and I am sure that everyone could think about many of them. Other "Bosses" could be more problems for You and Your army, because they would not give any boost, but when lost than Your army would get some temporary setback - just like with the Comm Truck. But insted broken communication it would be something else - longer respawn time for players and bots, no grenades on respawn, no vehicles respawning etc. And of course some "Bosses" could be both - boost and risk at the same time. For example legendary sharpshooter is coming to aid Your army - he is well known for his sniper abilities in entire army. He is famous and very respected. His job is to train all Your army recruits how to shoot in order to kill more efficient - so from now on any soldier from Your army get +10% to chance to kill enemy upon hit. But suddenly few soldiers from enemy managed to assasinate him. Now You not only do not get this +10% to kill bonus, but also You must face another problem - Your army is demoralised by the fact that such legendary person was killed and as such is fighting worse than normally would. And this state will last for some time.
But how to ballance those? We have to problems heare - one side might get "Bosses" while second would have bad luck (or good luck) of not getting them. This would be easy to resolve - when one side is getting "Boss", than second side also. And problem resolved. But second problem with ballancing would be harder - because if first side is getting strong type "Boss", and second side gets this problematic, that when killed causes problems but do not give any boost type while lives, than we could easily say that it is double win for the first side. Maybe it would be possible to make sure that types of "Bosses" would be alweys the same for both sides when they are spawned. That shoud be eoungh to balance it properly. Of course "Bosses" of the same type should be comperable - there may be no such situation that one gives boost +25% to weapons range, and another +2% to chance to kill enemy when he is hit.
And another type of "Boss" would be target of opportunity. He would not belong to any of fighting sides - he might be a well known criminal, or drug dealer, or just somebody whom both sides detest and want to see dead. Those "Bosses" would not give any bonuses or cause problems for anybody upon death. But soldier that would deliver killing blow would be well awarded by his commander - it could be big amount of exp points (let's say 400), or maybe one mortar strike, or instant promotion... Or something else. Of course this kind of "Boss" should have his own bodyguards, which are trainded better than regular soldiers so they will be not an easy targets.
Communication Truck ather it is destroyed, respawn in 5 minutes. "Bosses" from mine suggestion are not respawning again. If he is lost, than he is lost. Another of the same type and even giving the same bonuses might shown again. But that would be not as a respawn. That would be just another spawned "Boss" which happen to be copy of previous one. Also their apperance on battlefield does not need to be a random event - it may come from actions that are happening. Possibilites are really big in numbers. Ba! "Bosses" could be used even to deliberatly unbalance game at some point to give loosing side upper hand so it have chance to again bring fight to equal status (in invasion when enemy starts to have less than half of territory he could be helped by some good boost "Bosses").
Generally I think that implementing "Bosses" as I described them would have nice impact on game, and would give more reasones to players to use stealth from time to time. But to make thing clear - it would be not too good if those "Bosses" would become common thing. I would say that having them spawned three times in 60 minutes of gameplay would be good - not too much, but not too little. If somebody do not like the idea (remember that it is not something very diffrent from Communication Truck) there should be also option to simply turn them of before the match.
And as a final note - it would be possible to have many "Bosses" at the same time for one side. Basicly "Bosses" lives until they are killed - they do not go away. So if You are succesful in keeping them alive (they should not attack enemy like normal soldiers - they should stay in their region, and fight to defend themselfs) than good to You.
3.I am assuming we will get classes for our troops. If I am mistaken and we will not than following suggestion is just a waste of time so just ingnore it and concentrate on the two abowe. Also I would like Developer or site Administrator to inform me about it in comment, so I would avoid makink any suggestions that would require any clases. But from what I remember clases are comfirmed (I might remember wrong - so better safe than sorry).
"2+2=5 not 4" Ok, let's say that I am colonel which have 10 troops under his command. 9 soldiers and one field medic. In such situation my boys may be happy about their higher survivality - this medic helps a lot. Other time I have also 10 troops but this time insted of one field medic I have one engineer and rest are just soldiers. Maybe my boys die more often than when they got a field medic in squad, but those fortifications quickly build are also quite handy. So it is also good to have an engineer with You. Now I am merging those two situations - I have 8 soldiers, 1 medic and 1 engineer. So I am able to build those fortifications and improve survivality of my men - 2+2=4 But because I have at the same time medic and engineer, my engineer should be able to build new structures - for example field hospital. It would be not possible if I had only medic or only engineer. Having them both in my squad gives me this additional option so "2+2=5". And it could work for more clases. Engineer and Medic are only just example to explain what I have in mind. Note that what clases and what their roles will be in the end is not part of this suggestion. I only suggest that some clases when are present together in one squad should improve their possibilities - not all of course.
"Squad preference..." This is very simple - if classes will be part of a game, please give us a possiblity to edit our preference. Max troops under Your command right now is 10. Number of clases is unknow to me so it will be X. So it would be good to have a table with X columns and 10 rows. In first collunm You would be putting clas of soldier You would like to have under Your command as Your first troop, second, third and so to tenth. That way You will "tell" game what is Your "dream team". Next collumn would be used in the same way, but insted of "making" Your most preferable squad You would be doing Your a bit less preferable squad... And so, and so until the end of table. So what out of this? So if You met to lower ranking soldiers of diffrent clas, and both willing to join You (emm... Willing is not a good word when reffering to army I think ^^), but You can have only one of them for some reason, than based on how You filled this table - the one more preffered by You will do it. Moreover, If You have full squad but it is far from Your first collumn squad, than if You met lower ranking soldier, which is free and is fitting more to Your first collumn squad than one of soldiers from Your squad, than the one from Your squad would be kicked out, and the new one would take his place. Uhh... I hope You understand what I mean...
