Hi all,

I've been playing for hours already and one thing I really miss is a grenade danger indication.
Either by using an icon like in Call of Duty, or by giving the edges of the screen a red glow, or something.
Since there is so much (awesome stuff) going on in the battlefield, I usually get killed by a grenade I didn't notice being thrown.
(That sneaky AI can throw like crazy! They're pros when it comes to throwing grenades. That accuracy!)

Another suggestion: Wouldn't it be nifty to see how many points you have when playing, so you can see how many more you need to the next rank?
I'm a programmer myself and I would think this is easily implemented.

OK, one other thing, since I'm here now anyway 8-)
Games such as Day Z, McDroid, uh... Battlefield 3, just to name a few, have a login function that also stores your progress in 'the cloud'.
So that -no matter where you login- you always continue as that awesome soldier with 20.000 kills registered on your name.
My problem is, that I have a desktop computer and a laptop (not really a problem ;) ), but the statistics and such differ on both computers.
I mean, it would be kinda cool if I just had 1 account I could use, where all statistics were saved and retrieved online.
(But this isn't really a priority in the game, it would just be cool.)

Someone mentioned before that adding grenade indicators would decrease the player's need of awareness, much like a ammo indicator on the crosshairs. (I personally would love a grenade indicator for the same reasons you have :) )

The "DEL" key (or F1) only shows your score and not the experience. For that you need to point the crosshair on your soldier and you see the XP.
Every 1000 XP you level up a rank.

As for the grenade indicator I don't think it's a good idea. Imo they are visible enough and it would make the game suffer of consolitis :p

One option for this would be to integrate the game properly in Steam, would seem convenient to use their server infrastructure for this, that is, if and when the game gets greenlit in Steam.

me neither at all. Only thing I could think off is to slightly increase the size of the grenade or to play a bit aorund with the skin color.

I really can't think of many situations where a grenade indicator would be useful. Most grenades I either catch the animation and begin moving (much like how in Company of Heroes or Men of War people do this, it's not something difficult to do), or the grenade is mid-flight and running away won't save you. The only time this would help is when it's my own fault for not paying attention and I run ontop of a grenade, and a grenade indicator then would likely be again useless unless the icon was 2-3x larger than the grenade radius (which would then make it rather annoying when grenade spam happens and the grenades are close enough to trigger that but not kill you, and you are aware of them being too far away).

And also, as others have said, it removes player focus on situational awareness and such. I personally find it amusing in RO 1 and 2 when I run out of cover (dashing forward immediately, rather than cautiously checking before doing so) and suddenly explode, but I see a grenade there on the ground a split second beforehand.

And OT: Just a pet peeve of mine but DayZ isn't a released yet, for the time being it is a mod for an awesome game that is quite underrated. :P

If somebody threw a grenade at your feet from behind would you notice? If you want to see behind you better don't put your crosshair the the edge of the screen. If the crosshair is close to the center you can see around you better.

Grenades are giant white and green blobs anyways, I don't understand your issue with not being able to see them. There's also a distinct 'whoosh' sound when they are thrown, and if you have any AI around you (your character may too, I've forgotten) they will comment on the grenade's presence.

As for the aiming precision, your character uses the same calculations to determine the arc the grenade needs to be thrown to reach its destination as the AI does as far as I know.
