My landlord put me on a lousy guest network that times out every so often, and has closed ports, so as much as I'd like to just host, I can't.

If no one gets a server up ill talk to Pasik and work on getting a dedicated one up. Or something along those lines.

If theres interest at least.

I have an old IBM laptop I don't use, could make it a dedicated Teamspeak server, I don't think we'll need that much ressources that it'll use up all my laptop's

but it would need to run 24/7, else it wouldn't make much sense.
We checked about the TS servers, and if you use it for a commercial purpose it costs a early fee, and that's not worth it imo as I am not sure how many would use it anyway. So yes Zomgman if you could provide a TS server at least for a few, we'd be able to see if and how many people are using it.
We are more worried about the usefulness of a TS server for tactical communication between the players as it might be pretty hard to tell where to go and what to do just with a voice :)
Some map pings or map markers (we discussed this internally on sunday) along with a TS voice chat may be much more helpful than just a voice chat in my opinion.

Get some grid co-ordinates on the maps!

A1, B2, etc.

It sounds really boss to talk like that too. Are you guys toying around with ingame voice? That last post was pretty ambiguous :)

If you mean implementing voice chat into the game engine itself, then no. This will most likely never happen :)

I can probably have the laptop setup to run 24/7 in a room where we rarely go, I'd just have to open a port because i'm on a new router, but that's not hard. I'll set it up tonight and send you stats, if I can't actually host, I'll tell you.

Any progress on the server etc?

Incidentally I'd be keen on seeing fewer maximum bots (e.g. 50) since the games drag on forever when there are > 100.
