I am partial to green, so I pick the goodies. However, I don't think it's proper to call one side good and the other side bad. Instead they should be something like the eagles and the hawks, or something similarly cheesy.
What would make this game interesting is if two more sides came into the fight... 4 sides all fighting for victory... imagine if they all contested the center of the map...
Using real weapons is fine, but I really don't think the factions themselves should represent real countries. Besides, these days everybody wears camouflage so if two factions were fighting in the woods they'd probably be wearing woodland camouflage, which would make them both look green.
Anyways, I do agree that having more factions added in would be interesting, I'm just not sure how it should be decided how many factions are in a match. Should it be purely based on which map you're playing, or should it be something you can set in the server options?
I'd also like to point out there's a reason that games like to choose red and blue as their opposing sides. Red and blue are both somewhat 'opposite' colors in that blue is generally a 'cool' color while red is a 'warm' color. On top of that, the most common color blindness (I think?) is red-green color blindness, so red and green factions would look identical to somebody with that kind of color blindness.
Team Fortress Classic had red, blue, green, and yellow teams. Which colors should RWR use?
