CHkilroys video. I really like the demo. Just worried about buying it and then the game dies. Always worried about that, nothing against the devs or anything.

You don't have to worry about the lifespan of RWR. I predict RWR a very long life span. Why?

- highly moddable (very interesting mods will be done in the future, for example the zombie survive mod)
- focus on multiplayer
- low price-tag
- multiplatform (win, linux and maybe mac at some point)
- dedicated servers, LAN support
- Desura, Steam...

and so on...

So you really don't have to worry :)
And even IF the game would die in 2 years, the few bucks that you spent wouldn't kill you... Just my 2 cents :)
Anyway, I prognosticate FAR more than 2 years.

It's just always a passive worry of mine. It looks really cool and I've got a few forum members on another forum interested. One has complained about the noise though. He said "It looks cool, but the sound system is bugging me out. Too much noise (walking noise of all the on-screen soldiers) but not enough noise (ambient/atmospheric)"

We never heard anyone complaining about that before, so this will most likely not change much. But remember that the game is still in beta stage and some stuff may change for the final version. If the noises are so annoying for him, he can just modify those sound files (in the sound folder).

I also find this a bit surprising, but I obviously admit the foot step sounds are audible, it's part of the game that you could use it to spot if there are soldiers somewhere close by your view and on which side.

It makes me think about adding some volume controls for the sounds divided into several groups, that wouldn't be a big deal, and I think there was also a request for overall volume control recently.

I can make the three ambient sound files a few decibels louder for him if he wants. It would only take a few minutes.

Or you could make it so that as your character hears loud noises constantly quieter ones will be even quieter or not even play at all. In the same vein, not hearing loud noises will make it so when loud noises occur they are a little more emphasized until your character gets accustomed to the sound.
