Would it be possible to add something like "spawn_type=green" and "spawn_type=grey" for the spawn point rects? The default state could could be how it is now, but with the option to make certain spawn points at the start of a game only for a certain team. If a base gets captured by the enemy team, then the dedicated spawn point flips to that team.

Are you looking to make the initial game state so that there will be just the specific bases that are captured by the factions, so that the rest of the bases are neutral and uncontrolled when starting? This likely can't happen very soon, as currently, there's no such concept as neutral bases, the bases are always captured by either faction, and if the bases are captured by either faction, the spawn points work too.

Or, would it be enough to be able to set the initial bases between factions and define them in objects.svg? I'd just need to add some controls for the Create new game menu to be able to choose the initial situation from what is defined in the map rather than dividing the bases randomly.

I guess what I was trying to describe is a way for a map to start the same way each time in addition to randomly. For example if you had a map with a base to the north and a base to the south, the mapper could set an option to make the south base be where the green team starts each game.

Fixed starting map will most likely be implemented at around the end of the map contest since those small pure PvP maps need fixed starting position. So I'd say that it's implemented in roughly 1 month.
