1) Right now maps can come with custom textures, but that's it. It would be awesome if you could load models, animations, names and all other info right from the map folder, it would make total conversion mods into total conversion maps and it would increase the game replayability greatly. A person could make a mod as a single map, and it would be playable by selecting that map while leaving the game files intact.
Please make it possible!

2) It would be awesome if client could download a missing map when you join a server with it. It would increase the custom map sharing greatly. It would basically make the game like Warcraft 3 public games. The Warcraft 3 was forgotten with time, but it still lives in various AoS, tower defence, RPG and strategy maps.

I agree with the download of missing maps idea, It'd be great for server based mods. Rather like Counter-Strike:Source where you download the map the server is running :) Only problem is some mods require different AI and thats where the problems start to appear...

It would be cool if it was somehow implemented by Pasik but personally I would be put off by different AI movements, good suggestion though! :)

For 1, something is coming eventually. There will be a concept of content packages, but I haven't yet started to plan how to lay it all out. I wouldn't make everything specific to map, as if I wanted to make 10 maps with the same "theme" with mostly shared textures, models and sounds, I wouldn't want to duplicate all the common data for each map. Let's see how it'll turn out once I get to think about it in more detail.

2 sounds like there should be a central map repository which could be used to share the maps, as I'm guessing it wouldn't be acceptable if a game server hosting a big match would start to transfer the map and other content to new joiners in the middle of the match potentially messing up the network traffic.

I'm not entirely sure if I, as Modulaatio Games, could provide such a repository, as moderating the content for copyright infringements would be too much to handle.

One option for this would be to add support for the content package creators to add a download link in the content package, which the game server could then share with the joiners. The joiner would then use that link to download the package. It would be up to the modder to provide the hosting for the mod.

Or, to break the hard connection between the package and its location, there could be a central repository which only maintains information about package names and their location. If the location would change, it wouldn't need a change in the package itself.

I'm sure there are other options as well, just happened to think of these first.
