I can understand his reaction.
The only reason why I told this much is because I know that those are already facts in my story. It's unlikely that they'll change.
if they weren't i wouldn't want people to know about it yet because i hate beeing judged in an unfinished work.
I only give small bits to my friends because I don't want them to read yet, heck i'm actually writting in English instead of Portuguese so I can have some sort of "protection" in case they steal my notebook just to mess with me.

it's not pratical and besides, I'm clearly the most fluent person in English in my class (I scored 19/20 in the end of the year because i'm lazy and the closest one was my cousin with 16 if i'm not mistaken). Aside from me, last year in my 16 student social-economics class there were only 3,4 people who could speak decent english while the others either just spoke a bit using portuguese sounds in english words or nothing at all. I imagine that it is frustrating for my english teacher to have to put up with our class because most of them aren't interested in learning english, at all

So I'm pretty well covered when it comes to unwanted readers.

Wow, you have pretty much reminded me of myself when I was at high school. By far the best in English and writing fantasy as well.. Though I have to say my writings were quite different (someone compared it to Eragon, wich got me to actually read it. Great series).
