Classic itself doesn't make that much sense in the end, and that's fine, it's just a sandbox gamemode.

Getting a server up with more refined Classic-based settings is pretty easy, but I guess the main obstacle still is how to get people play anything else than Invasion in the first place.

+30 players this evening and so much fun! I feel nothing needs to be changed now. Except some extra options for generals of the army :D

I see nothing funny here. Gaming fails if there are more than 15 ppl imo. Because of many players enemies are everywhere and you can't do nothing extraordinary - if you want to stay alive, you MUST stay with them and that's isnt on my taste. Just a crowd of FNGs who shooting everywhere, using no covers, doing nonsensical things until they dying, driving any available vehicles in all possible directions with no reason and many more, which makes me avoid playing. I have no wish to participate in such "bloody f***in massacre"..... no thanksImage

Accordingly to the large number of novices, I'd suggest (only as a temporary measure until profile sharing thing for exactly matched servers be realized) to be reduced: player_ai_compensation_factor = 1

e.g. Still playing on map2 more than 4 hours(since server has been restarted)

Yes, maps 1 and 2 are most difficult with many players i think.

Yesterday there was many players with more than 10kXP. They even help you when wounded and they use sandbags and covers.
I like fighting with 15-20 other players in same spot shooting continuous flow of enemies :D
Of course backdooring is almost impossible because there is so many enemies in the bases. But when is war won by 1 man?

One day these hundreds of new players will become very good and I hope we can have great PvP games in future with them.

Yesterday reached 500kXP. :)

OT: How about new option: Player with highest rank can choose objective. Newbies usually go to fight the objective even there would be some better bases to attack.

The SAS server may be targeted primarily at veterans, but during the last two weeks the server is 24/7 full of newbies, so its main idea to be more difficult than other servers becomes meaningless. Gaming sucks even with 12-14 ppl in there. No one could do anything different than the primary objective - it is obvious that all attempts for stealth/sabotage are doomed to fail or have a minimum chance to succeed, due the numerous enemies that are everywhere, especially inside the bases.
Already suggested to be reduced temporarily the player_ai_compensation_factor. Also players limit should be set max at no more than 16-18 players, no matter what they are. Let other players discover some other modes/servers. :mrgreen:

Will give you an example again: with 2-3 more experienced players of 15 we played over map2 & map4 about 6 hours and I'm sure that's not the idea..... :roll:
Becomes clear that thr situation is currently changed, so please take appropriate steps(even the temporary ones)

Another strange thing: right now we are 4 ppl in server, but however, in the last Gray base has more enemies than usual, a lot more, as if the real players are much more. Looks like the server does not take into account the number of players. For that I mentioned a few weeks ago, but there was no explanation.

keepsake bay is alright, ive actually seen with 30+ people, a group of them went behind with a flare and capped ranch as we were stuck on east beach and we actually pincered them oddly enough

also the block to block fighting is easy inside the actual city, just the push upwards towards the last two bases (ranch and villa) is pretty hard, also east beach because of that huge no man land, as well as its very easy to get flanked while pushing up both hills

fridge valley is mainly the campsites and the main bases that are the hardest to cap for a full rookie team, since alot of them dont have anti tank and the enemy armor reinforcement pushes them back too far, especially if the enemy has the tank, also its impossible to push into the base from the front without armor

anyways I dont want there to be set a player limit on the server because then people (me) wont be able to get on :( :( maybe set the player compensation to 0.5 instead? its not that hard really and the rookies always steamroll the easier maps

Just curious if there was some kind of reset or something for the last update?
I went from a score of almost finally 100K since release on Steam, down to just 9k last night. I think my rank is still the same, I still have 83+K in xp. But I know my Score was way higher. It's not a huge deal, it's just points and place on the player list in game but it is weird to see my name way down there for the first time in along time. Although I did notice there are still others that have their huge Score on SAS.
Just wondering if maybe a decimal was placed in the wrong place? 90+K to 9+K?

Nothing was changed profile wise, although I am always tempted to rename the folder for a few hours and watch as people rage :D : D :D
