Would a Artillery Smoke Barrage be possible in anyway?
I mean I wouldn't expect it to actually block the view of what's on the other side if you could pan far enough to see. I guess depending on AOE it would visibly block anywhere the smoke was billowing up, like current smoke behavior in the game only on a bigger scale. But that is purely aesthetics in regards to a Smoke Barrage.
The question is: Is it possible to effect the AI accuracy when firing through an area?
So that the smoke barrage would basically greatly reduce your chances of getting hit or being spotted as easily.
A reduction in general accuracy for all, or hit-chance or whatever it may be for the AI as a whole. And the effect on a player would be trying to look through bunch of undulating smoke clouds which would help cover the movements of AI and Player alike. (A counter point being that it's an Arty Drop so it would attract attention and therefor not too helpful for stealth, although maybe would help sneak up larger groups of AI). Does that make sense?
Could anything like this be done? It feels like the one main support call missing.
Well that and a quick response fire and forget A-10 Air to Ground anti-vehicle support strike.
