I recently purchased this game and enjoy playing it. However every time it try to load my previous progress the game crashes. I also are unable to join a multiplayer server. I get to the screen and see myself in the map. There are options to show factions and I can see other players running about unable to join the game. Some help would be appreciated.

Does the game create a crashdump? The error dialog should tell if it creates one, and the location where to find it. It's at %appdata%\Running with rifles\rwr_crashdump.dmp. If it's there, send it to me at pasi.kainiemi@modulaatio.com.

Another thing to send would be rwr_game.log, also found in the same folder.

Wouldn't hurt to have the failing savegame files either for taking a look, they'd be at that location under savegames\[yoursavegamename].

Is the online behaving same for all servers?

I am not very technical minded I will try my best to locate the log. It will not let me join any multiplayer server.

Thanks for the files. Looks like I was being overly optimistic of 0.95 saves just working in 0.96, seems we missed the fact that some soldier group ids changed.

You should be able to recover the save by
1) open game.xml in notepad
2) go Edit -> Replace...
3) set Find what as soldier_group_id="19"
4) set Replace with to soldier_group_id="21"
5) click on Replace All
6) save the file and try to resume the game now.

Thanks I don't know how to find open game.xml where or how do I do that. Sorry like I said I only got a computer in December.

game.xml is one of the files from the savegame folder you sent me in the e-mail. Browse to %appdata%\Running with rifles\savegames\battle0.save, right click on game.xml, pick Open with in the menu and select Notepad.
