- RwRConvert - Version 0.1 -

This tool enables you to convert any Running With Rifles model file, into a voxel file usable by Sproxel, the free Voxel editor.
You can get Sproxel free at: http://code.google.com/p/sproxel/

NOTE: The current version does not allow the addition of new voxels, just changing the color of existing ones.
(Will be in the next version)

Please be sure to leave a message, if you have any bugs/problems.

Important Tips:
- Press G in Sproxel to disable the grid (Speeds it up a lot!!!)
- Use the Pencil/Bucket icon in Sproxel as it only replaces existing ones (so you don't add any new ones by accident)

Usage Guide

1) Choose any game model to edit under: %install dir%\rwr\media\models\
Image

2) Copy it to where your rwrconvert.exe is (Create a backup first!)
Image

3) From the command-line, run rwrconvert.exe like so:
rwrconvert tocsv OriginalModel.xml NewModel.csv

Image

4) After conversion, open the csv file in Sproxel. Do your custom editing. Save.
Image

5) From the command-line, run rwrconvert.exe again to convert back:
rwrconvert tocsv NewModel.csv NewModel.xml OriginalModel.xml

Image

6) Overwrite the game's model with your new NewModel.xml (in this case) in the models directory.

7) PLAY!!! Enjoy :)

Wow, really good! Now I can change the color of the grenade color without complications. :D

This is great! It would be pretty awesome if sproxel had support for skeletal animation, I could change to using sproxel myself too then :)

This may be a stupid question... How do you rotate the voxel models?

Also, please update this to allow adding blocks. Please

Could someone repost the link to the RwR converter? (not sproxel). It seems to have died over the new years.

RwRConvert has been removed

Quote:
Invalid or Deleted File.

The key you provided for file download was invalid. This is usually caused because the file is no longer stored on Mediafire. This occurs when the file is removed by the originating user or Mediafire.

Could the author/someone please upload another copy? Seemed like this way going to save a bit of time

I've actually made another basic conversion tool for sproxel -> RWR myself. I'll clean it up and release it on the weekend.

I'm also working to release RWR voxel editor in the future, but it's taking some more time than I initially expected.

I have written a rwr xml to sproxel csv converter in python. It accepts the rwr xml files and outputs a csv which sproxel can open (they're even in the right orientation now).

I have a bit more bug testing to do but you should be able to convert models out (and back) fairly soon.

Here's a sproxel to RWR converter, usage instructions can be viewed by just running the application on command line without any parameters: http://www.runningwithrifles.com/wp/sproxel2rwr.zip
