 Post subject: Normandy/Omaha Beach Map

While it's possible, the game doesn't have enough elements to make it really feel and look like Omaha Beach yet. Water and other battlefield props still need to be added to get the full feel.

But I'm sure someone will when enough has been added!

For now I would settle for a map where one side has sandbags and the other just plain ground with a few boxes here and there. Over time when defilades and boats/vehicles and mortars are added it could get better and more authentic. I agree though.

Water is the next big thing I'm starting to implement after I'm finished with the ladders and getting to roof tops.

Can you toss me some of those ideas you had for battlefield props to be added in the game? I can start thinking about what support those would require from the game.

Sure!

Bunkers, Maybe the roof becomes transparent once you enter a door?

Defilades, tanks traps, big steel crosses to stop tanks driving through areas. They are all over omaha beach, you know the ones.

Barbed wire, maybe it kills you and you can knife through it or something?

Walls, you said you'd be implementing ladders to roofs, maybe you could use the same principle to make walls? Like big wooden palisades that you can shoot down and toss grenades from, with stairs leading to the top.

Anti tank bunkers, maybe a modification on the bunker mentioned earlier for when vehicles are implemented. Image

Wooden fences, little picket ones that you can jump over, good for urban areas? Maybe they reduce damage by 50% as they are only wood.

Craters, left by explosions or placed before the map begins, they could drop the height level so you can crouch to avoid bullets.

Mines, maybe a grenade that only explodes when you walk over it.

Just off the top of my head, feel free to add any more community!

Those X things that were popularized in D Day... that'd be neat!

Also the boats, kinda memorable of a barge, one side opens up and lets out all the soldiers that are on it.
Could be useful for invasions when you win a map. Invasion from sea and air! Possibly bordering lands too! [Example {Invading Grey forces fro South East corner!} ]
