Is there any way I can disable a certain faction from picking up certain weapons? Example: I am developing a zombie mod and don't want Player-controlled Zombies to be able to pick up guns.

Alternative: is it possible to disable a faction from being played in Quick Match by humans?

Another question: Is it possible to give a single faction more AI 'soldiers' - but only that faction? (even if let's say there were 4 factions total. The 200% enemy count gives it to all enemies, but I just want it sent to one.)

Why not make them spawn with a weapon that's a blank model file?

That way they have a weapon equipped but you won't see it.

I think you'll still be able to 'drop' that and pick up a gun

The AI shouldn't be dropping primaries to pick up other guns though? or am I wrong?

Far as I can tell, there's no way to prevent players from picking up weapons unless you're using some script, which I have no experience with.

You can prevent player from playing one side if you run it in Invasion mode - but that's not part of Quick Match, so yea. Might also be possible via scripting.

You can up the count of a specific faction via the map code. But this is tedious, as it's on a map-by-map basis. You'd have to edit all the maps and stick them in a package separate from the mod for it to have a variety of maps.

Thanks! I think I can make this work, except maybe the weapon pickup ;)

p.s. I don't need to copy maps. I just threw an init_match.xml into my mod's folder and it loads that every time the mod loads :)

you MIGHT be able to accomplish this by limiting the ranks in the "zombie" faction? for example, in the vanilla game you have to rank up 2-3 times before using certain weapons. Remove all zombie ranks except "private" or whatever you'd call it and you'd never be able to pick up guns, they'd be greyed out. But I don't know what part of the files dictates what rank you need to be to pick up weapons yet, just started modding this game like a day ago. :D
