Here's something I think would be very nice without an extraordinary amount of effort - a button that calls out to the nearest friendly AI controlled vehicle, making them abandon the vehicle for a minute or so allowing you to take it.

For obvious reasons, this shouldn't apply to the comms truck.

It's probably going to be implemented differently, but the functionality of taking over vehicles from AI will come.

We try to keep the game as realistic as possible without getting too serious about it, of course. And knifing someone though and armored vehicle is something only Chuck can achieve. But there will be a method to eliminate them from close-range, we are just not too sure what yet.
Our idea was that if you enter a vehicle in the passenger cabin you automatically stab the enemy sitting on the other side. The enemies on the back of the truck/APC won't be affected though. They might leave the vehicle to do the same to you once you made the kill. If you enter the back part of a vehicle, you will get killed if the enemies on the back part of the vehicle are at least 2. If an enemy is alone, you will kill him like you do on the front part.

I meant stabbing my own bot teammate :twisted: but as to eliminating the enemy driver I'd personally prefer "fun" over "realistic"...

Taking over from fellow AI could happen just by jumping in the vehicle and the bot jumps out.

This would of course only work if you had bigger rank than the driver.

Another feature that is close to getting to places with a vehicle is the "battle-taxi" feature. Some vehicles could be driven by designated drivers taking other squads here and there, including a player's squad.
