More often than not, the MG loses engagements vs other weapsons. I wish that the MG would have higher accuracy, and wouldnt suffer recoil nearly as much as it does. Seeing as how it uses a bipod, the accuracy and recoil should be higher.. Oh, and I was thinking, since the bipod is being used when the LMG's are facing a short wall, car, etc, shouldnt the accuracy be similar to a proned deployed LMG? Matt |

The MG is not supposed to be used in 1v1 situations. It's only really useful when mass AI are rushing your position and you have superior cover. Generally, I'll pick one up if we get pushed to the last base. Not having to reload can save lives sometimes. ComJak |

By 1v1, im referring to prone vs prone at a moderate distance. Is that still the intent? |

I still think the LMG is meant to suppress and deal area damage rather than go 1v1 vs any weapon. Especially when the target is prone. This reduces the area to hit by a lot and an LMG should have a hard time hitting a target prone at medium range. Of course this may not be "realistic" but for balance, I believe it does just fine. I would love for it to have some suppressibilty (word?) but so far, its innaccuracy means that any assault rifle or sniper rifle can very easily take it out. Im more often suppressed by a G36 or an AK47 because I know it will kill me if he aims at me. The wide cone with the LMG means that a 1/3 of of the bullets simply hit the ground well before the target, meaning it is that less effective. I just dont want the LMG to be like the LMG in BF2 that just wildly sprays bullets around. No one takes it as a serious threat. Ill play around with it a little more, but thats just my thoughts so far. What do you think about reducing the cumulative recoil so it can pop off slights longer bursts without reduced accuracy? Thats a good deal of what a bipod does. |

Perhaps. You do bring up good points. Obviously the recoil in rwr can't quite mimic real life because recoil in the y axis can't really be effective in an iso game like rwr. Perhaps pasik will discuss this matter further. ComJak |

May I ask which MG you are talking about? |

My personal feeling is that M240 is one of the better weapons out there, I always find it a huge threat when someone is bursting out bullets down the road on prone, and it's amazing as defensive element when used from cover, usually better at that job than the assault rifles. When playing alone, it seems I'm using this weapon most of the time. PKM, on the other hand, seems much inferior at that. Its spread seems a bit too much, and it seems even with its quicker operability, i.e. being able to shoot on crouch, it isn't enough to bring it on par with M240. Having said that, I feel the AI kills me a lot with PKM's too, maybe it's just my tactic that's flawed when using it myself. Talking about weapons, in my opinion, it's AK47 that needs a slight nerf, PKM and shotgun needs a slight boost, and all rifles except the sniper in general need to have their kill range reduced just a tiny bit -- on even ground areas like map2 town off-screen kills are still happening a bit too frequently. |

I was referring to both, but my points mainly apply to the PKM. Im good with the response I got here though, ill go play around with them more and see if I have anything useful to add. Sounds good though Pasik, thanks. |
