Right now if you go prone with prone toggle, you cannot go to crouch immediately by pressing crouch toggle. Case 1: stance:standing - Prone Toggle (abbreviated as PT later) -> stance: prone -> Crouch Toggle (CT) -> player stance: prone From Case 1: if you press PT again you will go to the crouch position instead of standing position. I call this Case 1a Case 1a: stance:prone -> CT -> stance:prone -> PT -> stance crouch It isn't a big problem. A minor fix would be welcome though. |

I personally don't use crouch/prone toggling at all in any games really; I've been playing guitar for 15 years so my hardened fingers don't get tired of holding them down against a board, thus I wouldn't be surprised if the toggle logic isn't spot on currently ![]() I wouldn't mind being told how it should behave. Sounds like what it should do is that if you press a toggle key of a stance where you're not, it should cancel the previous toggle and change to the new one. If you there untoggled the new current stance, should it go standing (no toggles) or to the previous toggle that technically had not been released by the player? |

It should go to the new toggle and cancel the old one, leaving you standing when you hit they key again. if they want to go prone again they should hit the toggle prone key again to cancel the crouch toggle. The real question is what to do with using toggles in conjunction with regular keys? In most games I play prone is something you toggle while crouch sometimes doesn't even have a toggle function. The thing is, if you have prone toggled and you tap the crouch button (not toggle) should it make you crouch, then go back to prone, or should it cancel the toggle? The reason is many times I tap the crouch key to get out of prone or to stand up. It could also be like in OFP/ARMA where instead of toggles you simply change your stance. Going from prone to standing while moving would put you straight into a run, for example. |

Right now prone always have the priority in terms of stance, and toggle always takes the priority Experiments done: new keys introduced (prone hold PH, crouch hold CH) Case 1 : stance: prone (via PT) - PH -> still prone, you won't stand up. Case 2: stance: crouch (via CT) -> PH -> go prone as long as you press PH Case 3: stance: prone (via PT) -> CH -> still prone, won't go to crouch position Quote: The real question is what to do with using toggles in conjunction with regular keys? The reason is many times I tap the crouch key to get out of prone or to stand up. If you press CT when you are currently in prone stance it should cancel your prone toggle flag and turn on the crouch toggle flag. If you press CH when you went prone with PT, it should cancel the prone toggle too, and let you go prone. After you released CH, you should be standing up. In short: I would prefer the control be more like Call of Duty's prone / crouch. |
