I had a sudden Idea about Zombie's in RWR.Do you think in the not so near future updates there will be a few Zombie maps with a goal besides surviving.A playlist only for Actual players and no bots.But with a objective.The Obj. is to rescue Blue colored civilian bots by placing down a flare and a Helicopter would come and pick up the survivors in about 60 seconds.The survivors should be on the roof for protection.And mabye after you cleanse the area of infected you gain the area as your own to respawn and defend from the hordes.I would say about 10 bases maximum but spread out greatly like the trench map.And Classes to choose from when you die like Engineer,Heavy Gunner, Medic(Health display would be a nice mini update) And Rifleman.But when i mean horde, i mean a massive, huge,impossible odds ( you get the idea) Horde.Just to make the game last a while.

Sounds like an awesome mod idea.

No bots for green team.

Grey team is bot zombies. They loose the ability to shoot and come in swarms like Left 4 dead :D

Wonder if this is already possible with a mod?

And yes this will be possible and for sure done at some point.

We just need a modder that will do that- someone good with code. Anything is possible with code! :D



I think we also need flying laser-shooting very rare unicorn vehicles in the zombie mode...

The problem is that you can't really mod the code unless you have the code to rebuild things and only I've got it. The game engine doesn't have a plug-in system so that you would be able to make it, or some parts of it, run on your custom made logic. To get there, an SDK would need to be made for RWR engine, and if I would start doing that, I wouldn't be able to continue with RWR itself for a long time.

The only feasible choice I see currently for a zombie mode is that I code it myself in the game.

There is no health system. Or rather, there is a very simple health system. Each soldier has one hit point. Each bullet/pellet has a chance (around 50% at point-blank range for most weapons) of dealing damage and thus killing the target. The sniper rifle is the only exception with a 100% chance of killing the target at point blank range.

You can mod all weapons out, and then it becomes a knife/grenade fight, if that is your sort of thing...

But for now, that is the closest you can get to zombies in rwr.
