was thinking it would be nice to have a bit more flexibility in order issuing. without getting to complex.

such as being able to tell your squad to go somewhere and not regroup afterwards. so you could have them defend a point of interest, or take a sniping position. while you do other things.

and being able to have you squad pick up different guns. so you could create a team of silenced smgs to go raiding with you, or what not.

was thinking both these could be done by holding down the order button for over a second, as they wouldn't be split second decision orders. and it wouldn't require more keys.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
also saw a post a while back about breaking down your squad to give individual orders, and how to go about that.

my thought would be breaking them down to fire-teams that are assigned a number (1-4), that you would give them rts stile by hovering your mouse over them, holding alt(or whatever) and pressing the corresponding number key.

then you could command each fire-team individual with 1 touch of a button by just taping the number key(1-4) and they would move to the current mouse location.

Maby the constantly having to re-assigned squad members after one dies slows down game-play to much.

but I still like the idea of telling my hmg troop to take up cover behind a wall and provide suppression fire while the rest of the team flanks.
or having a sniper take a position on a roof to cover a street.
or having just silenced smgs fallow me
and when medics come in, I probably will just want them to hide and try not to die.

and maby that's a solution, each key 1-4 refers to a type of troop:

f1)- assault {all asult rifles, shotguns ext)
f2)- hmgs { and any other unit that needs to set up}
f3) - snipers
f4) - support units {medics, mortar men or whatever gets added}
f5) - stealth {silenced smgs (witch could also be part of assult)}

that way when they inevitably die you don't have to reassign anything.

and a 1key order keeps things fast and fluid.
