I know that vehicles are a long way off, but when they are added I'd like to see a full range of options including driving or riding in multi-seat vehicles. This is something that's always fun, especially in games with semi-decent AI. There's something enjoyable about letting a (potentially crazy) bot drive a jeep while you man the gun on the back. Likewise, it would be nice if bots would jump vehicles you're driving when you come near them, or at the very least if they're "following" you b/c of your rank. I think this feature could include some way of switching seats, perhaps simply by holding the button used to get in the vehicle and have it cycle through each available seat. |

Sort of like Halo I suppose? That would be nice. |

The model is way too complicated and doesn't really match to the style of the game, but 2 people in a vehicle is good, one who can only drive and the other who can shoot with a quite powerful mounted MG (both can be shot down like someone standing behind a wall). Since it's in faster movement it's not that easy to aim at. In such way it shouldn't be thaaat hard to implement. Correct me if I'm wrong pasik but I don't think this will happen anytime too soon :p |

All I want is a Jeep. MAYBE with a mounted MG on it. I don't really mind about vehicles as long as there is something to help traverse the map quicker. |

I don't mind if the vehicle selection is fairly limited (even to just a jeep, really) but my philosophy is that the player should never have access to something that npcs/bots don't have access to. In the case of vehicles this means that bots should be able to drive and ride in vehicles just like the player. Of course this requires more AI programming, so it's easy for me to say it but obviously much harder to impliment it. |

AI program for driving: if (car nearby && no driver) get in driver; else if (car nearby && driver && no gunner) get in gunner; else CHARGE FOR THE MOTHERLAND (on foot ![]() if (in driver) { go straight; if (hit wall) continue going straight until blown up.; if (see enemy) CHARGE FOR THE MOTHERLAND!!!; } if (in gunner) { shoot like the dickens; if (hit wall) shoot wall cuz that will help...; if (see enemy) SHOOT FOR THE MOTHERLAND!!!; } return; |

Yes, the target is that the vehicles will have several seats/positions for the soldiers to place themselves, so that one soldier drives and the others can shoot, either with their personal weapons or something attached to the vehicle. AI will also need to be able to drive the vehicles and use the other seats. The Jeep is the first vehicle I will start experimenting with. I hope to bring in the vehicle features over several releases, likely introducing the player-drivable Jeep first and then adding the AI functionality. I'm not overly worried about the AI in what comes to behaving around the vehicles or steering them, I think I got most of the components required to accomplish that stuff. The only tiny exception is that the AI has no knowledge of where the roads are or where the water is currently, but that's entirely fixable ![]() |

I just had an idea, may not be suitable but I am just putting this out there. How about trucks that can be called in if you are a certain distance away from the current objective? For example, a radio call (Much like the one called in for a mortar) which requests a pickup from a nearby transport truck (Controlled completely by AI). The location of the called in truck can be displayed on the map as your pickup so you know where to go. It will attempt to rendezvous with you at a certain location within your team's territory. The truck could contain a maximum of 8 soldiers. The maximum amount of trucks for each team could be decided by the server host. As you enter the truck your grenades are refilled. You can choose to get out at any time, but the end destination for the whole truck will be just outside the current objective. Obviously, the journey could take longer depending on how many people call in the truck, but having multiple trucks solves this problem. If a player is too far from their pickup point, or they just don't get in the truck, the truck will continue towards the next player/objective and will ignore calls from the missed soldier until it has dropped everyone off. The truck could be armored, meaning only mortars could take it down or mines (Another suggestion) The speed of the truck could be two thirds of what the jeep's speed will be, meaning it will stay useful alongside the jeep without being OP. Depending on what Pasik sees fit, the truck could follow either roads only or off-road (Mabye speed increases when on tarmac?) That's pretty much the gist of it. Just a small idea. |
