The buggy is, buggy (no pun intended). The controls are clunky, the handling is so messy. is it really supposed to be more difficult to drive than a jeep?

We don't need to fix anything that isn't broken ;)
If you can't drive the buggy just don't give full throttle and you will have much easier time.
