Hello, recently I bought Running With Rifles and I discovered one of the items was the "Holy Koran." I found it pretty offensive to leave a holy book on the ground in the middle of a warzone and I was wondering if there was any way to remove it and replace it with something else that was much less offensive?

I also think we should remove the "Holy Bible"

You can remove it locally if you go to your RWR folder (most likely in C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\RunningWithRifles\ and then browse to \media\packages\vanilla\items\

You can open that file with any texteditor and see this line:
Code:
<carry_item file="base_valuable.carry_item" name="Holy Koran" key="koran.carry_item">

You can replace the name "Holy Koran" by whatever you want, just make sure you don't delete the quotation marks.

You can also replace the model and texture:
Code:
<model mesh_filename="bible.mesh" texture_filename="koran.png" />

For example by
Code:
<model mesh_filename="magazine.mesh" texture_filename="horny_magazine.png" />
or any other mesh's and textures that you want.

Analogous you can replace the HUD icon:
Code:
<hud_icon filename="hud_koran.png" />
to
Code:
<hud_icon filename="hud_horny_magazine.png" />

You can replace them by whatever mesh, icon and texture you want (you can find those in the vanilla-folders).

No, no, we're being serious, I know, difficult to believe, but we are.

That whole coding thing is very helpful though, thank you, SASCologne.

Have no clue why you would want an item removed, especially seeing as it has no effect on the game except for the fact that it can be sold for RP or stashed.

I won't judge you and you are free to find it offensive or not but it's strange for me at least :)
I don't see it being offensive myself. There were a lot of soldier who took a small bible (probably also koran) with them on the battlefield.

Yes, I saw that, but considering this quote:

I didn't think you'd be fit to actually speak about it.

Hmm..... I am not sure what do you mean, but I just now realize that some people might be offended by such statements, although it was a joke..... :roll:
So, if it's the case, my apologies.
