Hi, I've been putting quite a bit of time into this game recently after I discovered it awhile ago, and though I set it down for awhile, I'm becoming addicted, but there's a teensy little set of details I don't like. The guns, the jeep, and the humvee all look great for what the game is, but the APC and the tank just... Don't look as good. So I thought it would be nice if each side got their own tank and APC: Greenbelts getting an M1 of some fashion with an LAV-25, Brownpants getting a T90 & BTR-90, and finally the Graycollars getting a Leopard 2 alongside a Fuchs with an autocannon. It would also be extremely awesome if there were a sort of frontal arc for tanks and APCs, as well as the ability to crouch while sitting on a gun position like a tank's machinegun, regular static machinegun, and so forth, to extend the life of the gunner. And like a greedy little child, I can't help but think: why not take it further? IFVs, as an intermediate between APCs and Tanks: better armor than APC, but closer to it, tracked and as such slower, with firepower like a tank between two primary weapons for the gunner to use, an autocannon and a guided missile that follows the crosshair. For the Greenbelts, it could be the M2 Bradley, Brownpants the BMP-2 or 3, and Graycollars the Marder 1A3 or Puma. Extending that thought, for a little asymmetrical balance, the M2 could fire two missiles rapidly before reloading and would have good armor, the BMP-2 could have a middle of the road rate of fire for its autocannon with a higher HE splash range, and the Marder could see a high rate of fire coupled with good armor. For all that, or even for just different teams having different tanks and APCs, it sort of makes one want the ability for all sides to go for any side's vehicles, supposing X amount has captured. In this regard, if a map supports an armored vehicle for either side, why not make the spot that this vehicle spawns in on a sort of vehicle depot? It gets off-topic, and I'm aware there's other threads on the matter, but a vehicle depot is a good place for a vehicle to repair that doesn't really drastically affect the current balance and flow of a fight too much. That aside, the vehicle depot would act as an armory from which to purchase vehicles at a cheaper rate than air dropping were that option available for that vehicle on the map, a repair would cost a certain amount depending on the vehicle itself and take it back up to full health, and the obvious RP for enemy (or even friendly?) vehicles. |
