I know some recent updates were made to the map. The cloud system is way better than the numbers.
But with the New map set up it feel like the over-all faction colors are really hard to see.
Obviously this is only a real problem with the 3-way faction battles.
Yet with the effort made to make the map easier to read at a glance,
the fainter faction colors make it harder to discern the battle-lines quickly.
That's it. Over and Out.

The challenge with it is that the clouds show overlap, concentration of several squads / intensity of the situation in the same location, by being semitransparent and thus increasing color intensity gradually by each overlapping cloud.

One downside is that if it gets too far in weight, it'll block all the map visuals (building contours, roads). That's why single cloud opacity needs to be quite low to start with.

Then there's the problem of coloring the overall territory. If the base color in these areas is strong, you won't distinguish a single faint semitransparent cloud at all there. Imagine strong brown color as brown territory, and having a faint green cloud there; you won't distinguish it. Compare that to having white (or just a tiny hint of faction color) and blending that faint green cloud, there's a much higher chance you'll see it too.

The territory edges could be highlighted, I'd like that, but I don't know if it's worth the week that it'll take me to implement.

Other suggestions to bring forth the territory ownership?

Actually no. I had a feeling it had to do with the overlapping clouds. Which again is great for that quick "at a glance" read of what's happening. Most thing in RWR combat have to be quick.

However I fully support your idea of the boarders for overall faction control lines. I assume you mean one outline for the entire area controlled by a single faction, not each individual zone controlled by that faction. In which case it seems there would be no need to define a line color for two adjacent faction. (Such as a brown and green line flush with each other.) I think just a single thin line of red maybe, or a distinct dotted line (aesthetics are your choice) would help on a subtle level to quickly and easily distinguish between over all faction controlled areas. Basically it wouldn't have to be much just something to help differentiate "at a glance"
Thanks again for your time.
