Just wondering whether or not there were any plans to add support for gamepads? I believe this was mentioned briefly in another post but I would really like to know as I figure that this game would be perfect for a dual stick controller...

Currently there are no plans to add gamepad support I'm afraid. Of course, if there's a lot of demand for the pad support, it will be implemented :) I suppose a lot of PC gamers prefer the mouse+keyboard combination anyway.

Controlling the crosshair with a pad would probably be quite painful and a way of more automatic aiming would need to be implemented purely for that.

As a person who now has no computer, and only has a pad, I'd play a pad version if it came out, but Im not gonna request it.

Not gonna request it, but a pad support would be cool indeed.

Aiming could be done with the left stick, and to make the aiming less painful: If the cursor is located near an enemy player, pressing the left stick would make the cursor to teleport to the player. This wouldn't give unfair advantages in my opinion.

More control possibilites:
Right stick: Move around
Tap right stick: Knife
Double tap right stick: Pick up weapon
L1: Crouch
L2: Prone
R6: Shoot
R8: Throw grenade
1: Map
2: Quick message menu, such as:
-Take cover!
-Omg grenade!
-Enemy spotted (grid number?)
-Request support.
-More..
3: Mortar strike
4: Order squad

If and when we get secondary weapon system, engineering stuff and alike, the arrow thingy would be good to browse with those. Even that these controls would be quite good, being effective means that you must pan a lot. And this would be rather annoying with sticks, so having a camera-lock on a button or in a menu would be preferable.

Soo, thoughts? I think it would be wonderful to play this game with a friend on a same computer.

You could have a shared screen, and in big resolutions it isn't so bad. With 1024x768 it would be awful though.

a big screen/high resolution won't make you see wider, just sharper ;)

I mean that there probably would be more room for half-cut, even if it wouldn't benefit a shared screen.
