In my opinion, the campaign in its current state, especially the beginning, is way too hard (e.g. I didn't manage to win in the first map in singleplayer even after about 4 hours :( ). The problem is that you have the lowest rank and you cannot choose your favourite weapon or use calls. Also, if I manage to sneek into a base with 2 or 3 soldiers and we capture it (in the meantime, my team loses another base :x ), it usually doesnt't take long until a 50-man-army appears and overruns us, too. So we're just at the beginning with one base again and this isn't fun at all (particularly for new players who will stop playing because of a failure-after another)...
Therefore I would say that the campaign needs some improvements! It's a good idea that you have to work your way from the very bottom all the way up, but maybe you could lower the enemy's accuracy and the number of opponent soldiers for the first maps and it would rise more and more with every new map.

Thanks for the feedback Tummerhore! This is exactly the stuff we need.

The challenge to get everything right here is that it takes something like 30-60min to beat the first map to many of us older players. I'd like the map to take about 1 hour, but 4+ hours is obviously too much.

There will be campaign settings that affect difficulty / span of progression in 0.94, that should help.

lemme tell you one situation, we had a line of areas, browns had the rest except grey was pushed to one point and suddenly it went like grey took over 4 areas and reinforced to kick our asses, browns cause enough problem because god damn accurate negev

I've got my test run at campaign first map recorded on video now, took 48 minutes, starting from Villa.
I've also got one 28 minute rush from Villa and one ~hour match starting from East Farm playing on a locally hosted server, but same settings nonetheless.

Would be great to get Tadler's 9 minute run to get a bit of angle on this :P

Would be awesome if at least some of you who are having trouble with campaign would check the video out, at least let's say the starting part, and tell if you think the AI is acting in some way different in your game, or, if the difference is more in how you and I play RWR.

I had a feeling I was playing a tad more lousy than usually (had to play 30 FPS due to video recording and all other excuses), but got a decent over 6 K/D nonetheless. Made some stoopid mistakes too.

The end fight was something I haven't come across yet; the fellow AI actually captured East Farm mostly by themselves, while I and bunch of others fought against Grey's attempts at East Beach base. In a sense nice to see that they indeed completed the map without my involvement in the actual attack, at least the final moments of it.

Gonna upload it in a few hours when the compression finishes.

I played through and couldn't cap more than 2 bases. This being in a linear attack obviously. Anyways, I feel the problem is when I DO clear out the next part, the green army doesn't do any pushing. It sends about 10 guys to go kill the 1 guy that i missed back at the green bases. By then, either I'm dead or the greys have pushed with their 10-15 guys taking back the position. Anyways, i've made a video about it on youtub.

The experience is mostly different from campaign solo to campaign with a dude in coop. I guess campaign and invasion are also different as the settings from invasion hasn't been update since 0.92 yet. pasik might have changed them in the meanwhile. As I am not at home (most likely until the 28 of December) I can't tell myself for sure.

At the end I would like everyone to have very tough times but without coming to the point of being completely frustrated though and I hope most of you agree :)
There are thousands of simple games out there and why RWR should be one of them? :)

Here's my Villa run: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbIINH3av9o

Tried starting from the other side, East Farm, much harder.

If anyone is interested in tweaking & testing, the stages are set up here in Campaign: media\packages\vanilla\scripts\trackers\map_rotator_invasion.php, and the common ones in stage.php.

I'll try to come up with a menu for choosing some difficulty multipliers soon, might make a 0.93.1 out of it.

Most of the settings have changed as the single player campaign derives the settings from the online invasion. AI compensation factors and other stuff could still be different.
