Location: Somewhere among the fog, watching you kill the AI.
SIMULATION MODE
It would be a Free Camera Mode good for veiwing custom maps and their functionality with the AI; or just watching battles! Good entertainment to see who wins the war! (You do not take part in this battle, though, you can toy with the surroundings and ven 'Play God' by dropping bombs, turning it day or night, adding and removing soldiers, and other fun stuff!

CAMPSITES
When you capture all the bases.... or loose them, whats next? Campsites are uncapturable bases tht are positioned near the edges of the map when all bases have been captured. It would feature tents for however many soldiers are occupying that campsite, and would provide a chance to take back, or loose the war again!

As you may not know yet, your soldier is in a block which is active, everything is rendered.

A basis for simulation mode has been started as the map mode, you can run it by launching the game as "rwr_game.exe map" in 0.3. Currently there are no soldiers in the field in that mode and it's a bit buggy in several ways but you can wander around the map with the camera. The camera is leveled slightly higher than in the usual game (it breaks the illusion with the bushes and tree vegetation, that's one of the bugs).

It could be extended like you said, allow AI fight each other and adding and removing soldiers and controlling various things, eventually being able to edit the map and terrain directly. Don't expect it to happen too soon, but it's a good idea :)

The win/lose situation has been discussed also in another thread recently, and I suggested airborne forces that would be dropped around the map occasionally if one nation runs out of bases. Implementation-wise the airborne forces would be an easier solution than the camps.

Just so it's possible to get a definite win condition in singleplayer, there should be a time limit that you need to hold all bases. In multiplayer, this option should be able to be toggled, in case you want forever lasting matches.

Yeah, like you said, probably there could be even a timer in the "after match". I was mainly intending the airborne soldiers to be simply an option when you start the game, as to whether the game is infinite or not.
