Hello, it's me again! This time with some feedback on 0.88 Game crash due to limited savegames (0.87) In 0.87 there was a problem with savegames. If you had 50 of them, starting a new match would crash the game instantly. Has this been encountered in 0.88 by anyone yet? Vehicles Vehicle driving has become very unforgiving since 0.87 and this hasn't changed much with 0.88. The bugs from 0.87 (APC's body getting stuck in the ground, wheels somehow disjointed from vehicle body) seem to have been worked out, but there are still a ton of annoyances that weren't present in 0.86. Grazing any unmovable object while driving seems to slow your vehicle to a crawl or complete standstill almost immediately. Although somewhat more realistic, it certainly isn't more fun. And don't even get me started on vehicle on vehicle action (wink wink, nudge nudge), though I'm sure this is a bug that you've noticed yourself. If any vehicle so much as looks in the direction in my vehicle they seem to instantly think they are supposed to be a single Transformer-like being and stick together like glue... Dragunov and... the fuck was that...?! I LOVE the new Dragunov! It's not overpowered by any means and I probably still prefer the G36 and M16-like weapon (I can't remember the name) in most situations, but it's a nice alternative to the god-awful sniper rifle we have now. It's accurate but not too accurate to be overpowered, its reload time is tolerable and the zoom makes it - to me - slightly better than the M16 in long range combat. I've been in love with that weapons since Mona wielded it in Max Payne 2 with deadly efficiency and it's great to see it return in other games. And... what was that...? A gun sound I haven't heard before...? Is it simply a new sound for an existing gun or...? Hmm, better investigate. What's this?! An F2000 or something? I haven't managed to get a good look at it but... I WANT IT! Weapons found so far: F2000 (machine gun) P90 (machine gun) AKS-74U (machine gun) pepperdust (shotgun) Morelli (shotgun) These weren't mentioned in the patch notes on Facebook... That's all for now. Still have some doubts about how the whole XP/RP thing is handled but I haven't played enough of 0.87/0.88 to form an opinion on that. I'll get back to you on that. |

Good point about the vehicle glue, thought I had it fixed already but nah ah. I made some attempts to alleviate it for 0.88.2, let's see how it goes. There seems to be a fine line in the vehicle physics and handling where a collision with something else should reduce tire spinning and how much. Having it set up reducing too much will make vehicles glue on to each other and buildings, having it too little makes vehicles turn up and keep accelerating on the side of wall or another vehicle. Tried to add some awareness for the collision direction and vehicle velocity now, let's see how it does. |

I haven't managed to get a good look at it but... I WANT IT! Is it true there's a rare gun in the game that is not available from the gun shop? Or am I going mad? Yah, rares now enabled in classic too, we're trying if it makes any sense. They definitely aren't that rare in 0.88/0.88.1 in single player as they are not rank-restricted, meaning AI is more probable to have one than in Invasion. Adjusted that too for 0.88.2. |
