Hands down this is one of the best games I've ever played, and I've been gaming since Commodore 64 days! I would love to see the game get the recognition and audience it deserves! Have you thought about contacting youtubers such as TotalBiscuit (TotalHalibut), Angry Joe etc. to increase public awareness of this little beauty? |

we contacted a few dozens youtubers. Around 40% didn't even answer. For those who answered we have a minority who actually did already a video. Almost all the answers were like "Look pretty cool, I'll check it out!" but unfortunately nothing happened... We also contacted TB twice and he (or at least his manager) is aware of it and sounded interested, now there's not much more we can do about it as spamming isn't always a solution, especially to someone who probably gets loads of dev requests every day. About Angry Joe, I don't think he would be interested, he most likely do only AAA titles or IF indie games, then final version of bigger titles. I recontacted some of the bigger youtubers who said they gonna make something about RWR but didn't, their answers can be resumed to "yes, true but I have to finish a project first then I will"... There's really not much we can do because asking again might really be annoying and we don't want to act like beggars and annoy them. They don't know what they are missing! ![]() |

Word of mouth. For now tell your battle buddies. I tell just about every gamer I know. And yes it is great. I've already brought one in, and have a few more that have shifted back to Pc gaming who I intend to bring in. Old squad mates are good to have. And it seems for most of us, that just trying the game out for a few minutes leads right to a Beta buy. I've said it before here: I've never purchased or wanted to purchase a beta (Although I have since, one other Wildfire Worlds if I can subtly support another interesting idea and game). But after just a little time watching Indie Hour episode on Gamespot, I sought out the demo for RWR, then very shortly after bought the Beta. And since then I encourage people to buy the beta for the pre-release deal of being part of the late test group, watching the development in action, and just the fact that it is a great warfare game. It's battle and it's great. I am so happy to support a game instead of buying more over priced cookie cutter "AAA" titles. So yea, it seems like it takes just a little viewing or playing and most get into it right away. I never get tired of being on when some one newer than myself logs in and after a short period starts making the statements we all seem to make and feel: "This if f***ing awesome!" "I love this game!" "Man I have wanted to play something like this for so long!" And so on. I sure it'll spread. And being part of the community we can help that personally. Although I do wish games on Greenlight could get an early community page after a certain vote count and/or when demo or beta is available for play. So we could start posting pics and forum stuff on it. That, I think, would help a lot. |
