Hello.

The purpose of this thread is to count how many zombie suggestion threads we have.

Right now, the number is 8 different zombie threads. This is not counting the comments in other threads as those are not threads dedicated to zombies.

Zombie Survival by BatButtz0r - Nothing new here. Just standard DayZ/L4D ideas.

Running with Zombies by Csonic6 - Discusses the use of the new (0.85) inventory system as a skeleton for the game mode.

Ideas for Zombies by dbzgage - Once again, meshes DayZ mechanics with L4D.

Humans vs something without guns by Foamy - Discusses possibilities of not ONLY zombies but werewolves, aliens...

Zombies by dbzgage - Ideas about civilians and classes in Zombie mode.

Co-op Zombie Mode by Causeless - TLDR... just a game mode.

Game Modes by bot123 - Talks about a lot of game modes including a point based zombie survival mode.

Rendered's Suggestion MEGATHREAD by Rendered - Discussion of a few more game modes and a typical zombies mode.


Please use the search feature and search "Zombie" before making a thread of your own.

I want to sticky this, but it's not very informative. Maybe provide links to all the current/future threads as they come out, as well as a preview of the content of the thread?

That way we can stop with the zombie threads. :P

Lol this was more of a joke thread than anything but hey, sure.

Also, the point was that hopefully no more zombie threads come out for a while.

Not sure the game could handle it.
Have you ever had that glitch where you get out of a jeep next to a wall and you get flung into the air with a parachute? You'll notice that the skybox is not at all high. But maybe like streaks...

Ac130? Warthog strike? Bombs?

The idea has been posted about a dozen times now, but has anyone gone as far as to actually MAKE one...?

Cause it sounds awesome and the game would be decently suited for it. Large maps would be, at least.

Couldn't the first zombie faction be set up simply as
* faction specific weapon setup
* one weapon, which is of type melee (medikit of death) and primary, and has largely 0 voxels, and makes movement slow
* custom animation for acting with that weapon, some form of scratch like maneuver
* new skins
?

The biggest obvious gap would seem to be that they'd use the default running animation but still move slowly, which would just look out of place but would play about right. If anyone requested it, would have been easy for me to add support for e.g. weapon specific run animation ;)

Of course there would be lots to tweak from there, what's the intended gamemode but also in how the zombies behave. Character behavior can't be modified too far yet, but it will be. Faction specific AI and character parameters will be exposed, I'd expect soon after we're done with getting into Steam Early Access so that we can concentrate on other matters not strictly related to that, and in a way would be good for me to know what things can't be adjusted currently for a zombie mod.

Well I don't know the first thing about coding/programming, but after 0.93 is released I think it would be nice if you could make and release something like that IF it's not too much work...
