Any chance of either having it automatically mute or a check option to mute the game when it is alt+tabbed out and minimised? Not that important in the grand scheme of things, but it does get annoying

If you have Windows, there is the mix thingy. You can adjust the volume there.

I can also take my headphones off Point is, most games mute when minimised so it would be nice if RWR had the same option

The problem is that I could then forget that I have a game running in the background after alt+tabbing
