I agree with your idea opened sir!, this would be nice if the MG accuracy would be fixed and will not suffer recoil long, as far as i concerned and i like handling this also...

In terms of balancing, the M230 is nearly perfect imo. In terms of realism maybe not that much but balancing is for sure more important. the M230 is also the weapon I fear the most.

The kill capacity of both machine guns is much higher than any of the other weapons, though. Because of it's high fire rate, combined with its higher magazine size, it could easily mow down a whole squad. This is best utilized in full-scale shootouts, where you're unlikely to be the target.

EDIT: Besides, the duty of the sniper is to take out the biggest threat at a very long range. It's reasonable for a sniper to take out the machinegunner, and not the other way around.
