I believe that if you are in the middle of a road and an mg starts firing, you don't just totter off to the side, you get out of there fast. If a grenade is lobbed near your feet, you don't just run away, you dive away. Actually, now that you mention it, a dive would be more realistic. I agree with you there.

Sometimes, I just feel that my soldier could have survived IRL by moving faster than the standard run (which is a paced jog). Imagine walking along, being ambushed from ahead of you (off-screen) and being able to quickly duck behind the low wall next to you without having to trot over there at the standard rate.

I think it would add to the importance of positioning while playing the game rather than just running down the street guns blazing.

so if your a machinge gunner carrying roughly 70-120 pounds of equipment i doubt you could dive/roll far enough to get away from a grenade or an MG

Aha but who said in RWR they were carrying so much equipment? The character models seem to only have a few pockets and things for small stuff, and a gun (with unlimited ammo :D)

So it seems to me that 30 pounds of M240 + maybe 10 pounds of pockets stuff = a very dive-able character :P

Anyways, even if I were carrying 100 pounds of equipment, the rigorous training it takes to become a soldier (assuming these two teams had formal training) and the adrenaline rushing through your body, combined with knowing that if you don't book ass now, you will die, may just be enough to let you dive out of the way of a grenade. Now I never envisioned diving halfway across the map but far enough that if you were on the edge of the grenade kill-zone, you can make it out or if you were a little out of cover, you could make it back with a high probability of survival. As someone above said, getting up could take a while to balance the maneuver and also for your character to get his breath back.

Also, they fall from buildings as high as you want without as much as a whimper. :D
