I had an idea where you could Actually customize the weapons in battles.For example a Weapon attachment option when creating a new game.Attachments i have thought of would be Grenade launchers,Silencers,Extended mags,Dual mags,and lazers.But must be unlocked through a mission system.This would put Random objectives in the level when you get bored from raiding areas.Like escorting civilians,Transporting troops(when APC is implemented),Hunting High value Targets,Restoring Morale(when a beter AI is implemented),Carrying orders,Spy documents and tapes to A certain Friendly location on the map, And taking out turrent and pillbox implacements(When a engineer is put into game).I also Thought of a 30 second Air support Could be added.Of course RWR is meant to be purely infantry so i suggest this can only be achieved at level captain or major.A helicopter could just come in and have 4 people with M60's inside spraying bullets on the enemy.But make it have not to much health and pilots could be killed.Let me know what you think :D

I would definitely love to see turrets and missions, especially if you could mount the turrets. The missions in Section 8 are a good example of how these can work in a game, I think.

By turrets do you mean something like CROWS mounted on a little bunker or CSWs like the Mk19 and M2HB? CROWS might be too unbalanced since heavy weapons like that should be high risk high reward. Weapons mounted on tripods could serve that purpose easily.

Concrete pillboxes, if small enough, could be good to have. Preferably with limited fields of fire so that it's actually possible to take them out. Otherwise entrenched foxholes should do nicely, since you're more open to fire and grenades but you have a better field of fire.

The idea of 'side missions' appeals to me, perhaps semi-randomized like a helicopter crash landing and you have to rescue the pilots and crew before the enemy team finds it. Or freeing POWs or VIPs from a randomly generated encampment thing. Completing side missions could grant you mortar fire missions or other goodies like enabling an APC spawn.

As for weapon attachments... nah, there's plenty of different kinds of guns that can fulfill different roles while being distinct from each other in various ways. Having a G36 and an M4A1 with a grenade launcher, for example, is much more interesting than having an M4A1 and an M4A1 with a grenade launcher.

(Pssssst. Pasik... add in battle rifles. I want me an M14 of some description >=3 )

I think the Engineer class would have to level up to at least Lieutenant before placing down the heavy turrents though.

well, RWR isn't supposed to be PURELY infantry but rather an emphasis on it. I wouldn't mind seeing small pillboxes/turrets being in the game somehow but HOW is the question.

Pasik has already said that building interiors aren't going to happen, but I think for something as small as a pillbox it should be possible. Right now the bridges in the maps are more like dams, but I forget if that was because of AI pathfinding or what. When he fixes that, a pillbox could simply work like a bridge you can go under, except it's a small building. People inside it would be shown the way people behind buildings are now (Is that called occlusion? I forget).

Can somebody explain to me about these turrets? The only turrets I know of are the ones that you mount on vehicles like tanks and such. Is there some kind of turret you mount on the ground or something that I'm unaware of?

EDIT: Unless you mean this kind of turret in which case we already have those, just play map 3 =)

Ah I believe that by turrets, we (I) mean small stationary mounted machine guns positions rather than the true definition as you pointed out. I was picturing something like this http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20061031013425/halo/images/6/6d/Gun_Turret_2.jpg but obviously not from the halo universe and more modern.

That way, there wouldn't need to be building interiors and rather, you just walk to it, press space, and your character will be mounted in a better protected position with a more powerful gun. I was thinking the same for a pillbox where you can just press space to get it and that was that rather than an actual building you go into.

If such a turret were to be implemented (if turret confuses you, what is the true word for this kind of defense?) then gluing that to the back of a jeep or on top of a truck would make for an assault jeep.

For the turrent i was thinking of a mountable sentry gun with a shield that can be broken or grenades tossed over to destroy it.
