Well i dont remember if its being discussed, but how about the waves of enemies?

you stand alone behind a trench or in any bunker or tower or whatever it will be, and enemies will go and rush on you.
it will start as 1 soldier rushing on you then 2 then 3, then squad, then platoon and so on, just to see how much can you stand against.
of course there should be artilery strikes given to you, helping soldiers and so on. i think it would be fun!

It would also nice for the player to gain money or command points, as he killed each soldier. He could then use his earnings to buy armor, turrets, better guns, grenades, rockets, claymores, and squad members during a 30 second time period between waves (sound familiar MW3 players? ;) ). Like you suggested, off map support would be cool too: A-10 Strafing runs, AC-130, close helicopter support, off-map snipers, and more goodies.

In order for this mode to work, the "one hit point" system would need to be changed to an actual health system. Otherwise, getting one unlucky shot may end a long streak of kills which will frustrate players.
