I guess neither side will be persuaded on this any time soon, and it's not by any means necessary either. I'm merely suggesting, the call is absolutely yours to make.
Note my UI suggestion (or, no-UI suggestion, rather) above though. Minimizing work that isn't absolutely necessary is probably the key to get as many features playtested as possible with limited resources.
I don't even really have a side here. I'm just trying to come up with counterarguments with a different view on the matter

I've pretty much already agreed on making the interval strike, unless someone votes differently. Anyway, it's probably going to be a while until it comes out, 0.5 maybe 0.6 version.
I might've been unclear about the UI, I had no intention to make one. I was simply stating that IF there would be a demand for this feature to expand to all sorts of options and I would agree on that, the time to implement even the basic version of it would increase significantly and it would be on other features/fixes expense. That pretty much says that this feature must remain a simple one, with no options or selecting whatsoever.
I find expanding the map contents, things that move on wheels and online features much more important than this. The simplest version of this feature is anyway so simple, that it can be squeezed in pretty early.
