After a rather unpleasant match on the SAS Invasion server tonight I think it's worth discussing the role of multiplayer ranks and vehicle priority - the ability to kick someone out of a vehicle (or stationary weapon) because of a rank difference.

Now, in singleplayer there's no problem. If you go into a vehicle first no higher ranking NPC will kick you out (at least not intentionally). In multiplayer my experience is that ever since the game first went on sale there seem to be a lot of people who think kicking you out of turrets is an okay thing to do. I think this ability should be removed in multiplayer matches, or at least diminished (requiring a rank difference of 3, for example.)

If you buy a minigun, someone else shouldn't be able to just kick you out. RWR coop should focus on being cooperative, not about competition over who gets to use what weapon.

---------------

A second problem I ran into tonight is the abuse of flashbang weaponry on teammates. A single griefer kept bombarding myself and a few other defenders with a rare flashbang weapon. After asking them to stop repeatedly they continued merrily. I had to take them out with explosives to take their toy from them.

Although I like that explosives and flashbangs can affect your team in singleplayer, I hate this abuse in multiplayer. I'd rather see this effect removed than to keep it realistic as it is now for the sake of gameplay. You'd be taking a weapon out of a troll's hand while the gameplay remains virtually unchanged.

---------------

I've played RWR singleplayer exclusively for the first two years, only experimenting with the multiplayer for the past 5 months or so. Some matches have been adrenaline-fueled parties filled with rich moments of teamplay and cooperative assaults. Tonight I saw the other side of the coin as multiple players kept bragging about their rank, kept sabotaging their teammate's defenses, stealing weapons and RP items...

I really hope we can find ways to help promote the former more while simultaneously discouraging the latter. I'd hate to have a community like CoD's or LoL's.

1# Must be possible to kick noobs out of armory- and spawn trucks to prevent them driving directly to enemy. I dont know why, but when noob plays first time RWR online, he somehow MUST go directly to important vehicle and start drive it like maniac(i did it also, its fun to test vehicles). But yea, 3-6 rank difference is really good idea! And XP limit of 2000xp to drive armory and spawn.

2# & 3# Vote kick must be possible. But i dont understand who wants to pay 10€ just to spoil others game? Must be 13yo bad-ass.

99% of time I have pleasure. 0.9% makes "stealers". 0.1% makes these teamkiller bad-asses.

Agreed. My only fear with the vote kicking method is the abuse of it. Granted, the community that we have is great and mainly everyone is understanding, trustworthy, and cooperative. IMO the vote to kick system should be available to everyone, but the determination of how many votes are needed to forgive or kick should divide the lobby by 2/3. For example, if there are 24 players in-game the server will determine that 16 votes are required to kick the player or forgive him/her.
