Hello, I bought this yesterday after a thread about this game resurfaced recently and I remembered I intended to buy this way back when it came out ![]() The demo of RWR 0.67 worked fine, and after a bit of searching, I found this thread: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=529&p=3225&hilit=drawprimitive#p3225 with the exact same problem (It's the jeeps). The script if the image isn't working is: ORGE EXCEPTION(3:RenderingAPIException): Failed to DrawPrimitive : An undetermined error occured in D3D9RenderSystem::_render at ..\..\..\..\..\RenderSystems\Direct3D9\src\OrgeD3D9RenderSystems.cpp (line 3116)

Hi Savvic! check if you have a file called C:\ProgramData\Running with rifles\rwr_crashdump.dmp. If you do, please send it to pasi.kainiemi@modulaatio.com, he'll investigate into it. Have a nice day, Jack PS: you may also join the chat on IRC. |

I'm afraid not, there's only four files inside programdata > Running with Rifle config.xml rwr_config rwr_game settings.xml |

you may then paste your rwr_game.log (only the last few lines are required). Remember to do so directly after you crash, as if you play a game after the crash, the error will beeverwritten. Also you might check again about the crash dump file if you crash again. Bte, do you always crash after it loading? |

Yeah, it always crashes right after the game finishes loading. Once the game tries to start the background battle it crashes. The menu buttons you see in the image doesn't even get the chance to fully slide into the frame. I'll try removing the jeeps in the game and see if it helps. As for the log: 02:11:31: Can't assign material darkgrey.001 to SubEntity of Ogre/MO9200 because this Material does not exist. Have you forgotten to define it in a .material script? 02:11:31: Can't assign material darkgrey.001 to SubEntity of Ogre/MO9201 because this Material does not exist. Could you send the whole log to pasi.kainiemi@modulaatio.com? I'd like to know a bit more about your graphics card and the support for shaders it has, it's in the log. It's ok not to have the crash dump, as this isn't technically an unexpected crash, it's an assertion. |

Sure thing, I'm going to title it the same as the thread. I'll also try and see if removing the jeeps help tonight. |

Ok, so you have ATI X1200. Google tells it has had a similar problem with another Ogre3D based game, looks like the thread didn't end up in a real solution to the issue though http://www.ogre3d.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=67313. You could run the game in a sort of safemode, worth to try at least. You need to start the game with a parameter "safemode", either on command line by navigating to the installation folder and calling "rwr_game.exe safemode" or by editing the Running with rifles shortcut you use to launch the game normally and making it point to a target like ""C:\Program Files (x86)\Running with rifles\rwr_game.exe" safemode". The Ogre forum thread suggests that your graphics card might be running low on memory. With luck, it might be just map2 (perhaps with the vehicles) that is going over the limit. You might try another map to launch in to, you'd do that by editing ProgramData\Running with Rifles\settings.xml and altering <map_resource_location>media/maps/map2</map_resource_location>, change map2 to e.g. map4, map4 is the lightest of them in my experience. The issue in the earlier DrawPrimitive thread you found about jeeps should've been fixed by now. The jeep mesh and rendering was rather unoptimized back then. I'm not sure how you are going to remove the jeeps; are you going to remove them from the map directly (objects.svg)? I actually don't see another way than that if you can't get to the game to start a new game with vehicles turned off. If you're editing the map, you might want to remove all the vehicle spawn points while you're at it. If you need help I can do that too for you to try. |

Ah yes, that card has been giving me trouble from day one. Too bad it's integrated ![]() I tried the safemod, it was a no go. Changing the settings file is a bit tricky since it seems I have to start a game first before the game generates that particular part of the settings file you are talking about. Adding that part to make it: Quote: </keyboard_controls> <mouse_controls> <control4 value="0" /> </mouse_controls> <map_resource_location>media/maps/map4</map_resource_location> </settings> Doesn't seem to work either. I really had no idea how to remove vehicles spawns when first said that, I thought I'd download a mod with no vehicles and see how it runs. Following your suggestion, I think I've deleted all the vehicle spawn points in map 2, though that doesn't seem to have helped. I think it might be a good idea to see if your scg file works though as I'm not familiar with this type of language. Edit 3:Nevermind, the suggestion for changing the map worked perfectly ![]() |

Edit 3:Nevermind, the suggestion for changing the map worked perfectly ![]() Just to verify, did that mean that map4 works? ![]() How about map1 or map3, the map can be changed in-game as well. I'd be curious to know if it's just map2 which isn't working for you, would be helpful in figuring out what's causing the issue. |
