Post subject:  [Fixed] Terrible game lag
Hi, I've been playing the game demo for weeks now and finally decided to get the full game. The thing is, whenever i try to play, the mouse sensitivity is all over the place, the game lags as if i only have half a gigabyte of RAM, and i cant do anything in-game. The controls are also really laggy too. Can i please get some help? I love the game and really want to play but its just got terrible lag and i cant do anything.

you could play the demo without the lag you mentioned?
If so, then there is no reason why the full beta should lag. Could you post your PC specifications in here please, as well as the rwr_game.log in C:\ProgramData\Running with rifles\rwr_game.log (for Vista/win7)

My specs are:
OS: Win7
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 960T PRocessor (4 CPUs) ~3.0GHz
RAM : 8Gb
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti


What else do you need? I'm not sure
And yes i could play the demo without any lag.

It's certainly strange that the demo works for you but the full game doesn't.

From what I read you said in IRC, it seems you already tried the things I would've recommended to try, that being mainly VSync off, no fullscreen, no AA, no shadows (F2), no postprocessing (F3), and changing mouse sensitivity.

Does this happen in all maps? If you can't navigate in the menus in-game due to the lag, you can instead launch the game on command line with "rwr_game.exe map=media/maps/map3". You'd have to locate where the game is installed, it should be C:\Program Files (x86)\Desura\Common\running-with-rifles\ if you're a Desura user or C:\Program Files (x86)\Running with rifles\ if you're a Desura standalone / BMTMicro user, by default. Another way to do the same thing is to change the last map played at C:\ProgramData\Running with rifles\settings.xml at map_resource_location -field. The map folders are named map1, map2, map3 and insularComplex, and it needs to have media/maps/ in front of it.

If this happens with all maps, I could throw you a few earlier builds to try. The build on which the demo was based on surely should work, and if it does, it should mean that something has happened between 0.67 - 0.71 that makes it behave so poorly on your system.

Thank you for the help but, for some reason, the game has suddenly started working! I just started it up to try and switch to a different map and everything was working fine. I have my AA at max, V-sync on, full screen. I have no idea what happened. Thank you for helping anyway, i wonder why it happened.
